Fall is our favorite time of year, and we are so excited to share our farm with you! We have many traditions in the Dollinger Family, and we hope you will be a part of our fall tradition each year.
History:
The farm has been in the Dollinger Family since 1852. It used to be the entire town of Dresden, Illinois, platted in 1836. Grandma's house (located next to the Bee Barn) was formerly known as Rutherford's Tavern and served as a stop on the stagecoach line. The barn pictured above, is a beautiful old building right along the Illinois and Michigan Canal, lovingly called the "Mule Barn." Built in 1834, it was originally designed for grain storage, but also served as a place to rest the mules pulling barges down the I & M Canal. Our Mule Barn has also been surveyed by the Historical Architectural Building Survey.
This little part of the world is full of history and intrigue, just waiting for you to explore its' natural wonders!
