Lakeview Orchard, a family owned and operated orchard, was started in 1996 by planting 1,000 dwarf apple trees and 50 blueberry bushes.
We had a small crop of delicious apples in 1997. Since then, we have planted new fruit trees every year, and now have over 4,500 trees, including apple, apricot, cherry, peach, plum, traditional pear and Asian pear.
We started the raspberry patch in 1999 and expanded it year by year to include both red and black raspberries. We have, also, added more blueberries, red currants, table grapes, and Saskatoons ( a berry similar in appearance to a blueberry) to our fruit offerings.
In the fall of 1999, we built our farm stand. We added the bakery and kitchen in the spring of 2000. In the summer of 2001, we added our cider mill.
Every year we continue to add or replace fruit trees and berry bushes.
We also maintain a garden for a few select vegetable crops and pumpkins.
Lakeview Orchard is open to “pick your own” customers as well as to those folks who like fresh fruit that is already picked.
We have a picnic area available to our customers when our Farm Store & Bakery is open.
