Arriving from Belgium, Henry Matthys founded the Matthys Family Farm shortly after the turn of the century. With is wife, Marie, and their nine children, Henry established a reputation for an industrious work ethic and generous spirit while attending to the farm. Building upon his father's foundation, Raymond Matthys and his wife Florence continued to raise corn and soybeans on the land and established a successful feed and milling service during the 1940s. The local community responded to the enterprise with zeal and soon customers were relying on the Matthys family for animal feed, homegrown produce, and good conversation.
