Our Story:

Papa's Pumpkin Patch was established in 2006 by the Unruh Family. Papa encouraged Mama's dream of having a pumpkin patch on their farm. It started with a small plot that grew well. Neighbors and friends were invited to come take a few pumpkins and leave a donation if they wanted. The dream grew bigger as the years have gone on.New activities and improvements join the patch each year. By becoming a registered agritourism event in 2011, more people have heard about us and joined in the fall fun. Mama, or Copee, as her Kansas City grandsons call her, opened another dream in 2014--a gift shop named Copee's Cupboard that offers a variety of handmade, homegrown items.

Papa and Mama's children and their spouses help in all aspects of Papa's Pumpkin Patch from ordering seeds, planting, weeding, harvesting and selling. Grandchildren are learning from their parents and Papa and Copee how much hard work can be rewarding.

Our commitment to offer a farm experience to others keeps us admission free. The sale of pumpkins, select activities and food keeps us improving on your experience at Papa's Pumpkin Patch. We value the time we get to spend together because of the patch and hope we can pass it on to you and your family! We open our farm to the public during the spring, summer, and fall. Work on the farm happens all the time. Animals are chored morning and evening. Plants are started during the end of winter. The soil is prepped for another growing season. Irrigation is readied and maintenance done. Weeds are pulled. Prayers are said. Once harvest begins, we open to you.

You are our visitors so please respect the areas that are designated for the children and animals that live here. Because of this, we do not allow pets or smoking on our farm. We want everyone to enjoy their time here.
