About Us:
At Red Fire Farm, we’ve been growing with certified organic practices since we opened as RFF in 2001. Farmer Ryan Voiland actually started farming when he was 12, in 1991, in his back yard in Montague. He immediately certified his field as organic with NOFA/Baystate Organic Certifiers, and thus became one of the first certified farms in Massachusetts. Organic is part of our core.
The farm produces a wide diversity of vegetables, flowers, fruit, and a high quality selection of vegetable and bedding plant flowers for your home garden in the spring.
Our Montague and Granby farm stores are open from May 1 – October 31, 7 days a week.
You can also visit us at the Springfield Farmers’ Market and the Tuesday Northampton Market for our fresh organic produce in the summer. We also bring goods to winter markets in our area!
At our permanent farm stores, apart from our own produce and plants for your garden, we connect with area producers to carry local bread, eggs, milk, honey, butter, cheese, maple syrup, chips, pickles, and many other products that support the regional economy.
Many families across the region participate in our CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program and get a weekly farm share of the Red Fire harvest.
We work closely with area produce markets including Cornucopia, Fresh Acres, Green Fields Market, Wegmans, Whole Foods Hadley to make our goods available on their shelves. You might well find us on the menu of some of the more locally-oriented restaurants in the region as well.
We have year-round and seasonal positions working and learning in sustainable, organic agriculture.
