About Us:
Shannon and Grady and their children are looking forward to meeting you and showing you around the farm and pumpkin patch. The first season for the Stone Barn Mercantile was in 2005... while hunting for the right location for her business, Shannon discovered the Stone Barn and adjacent stone house, and decided this would be the perfect place for both her business and her family.
The 90-acre farm had been in the hands of the same family for four generations. The original family apparently lived in the stone barn, built in 1878, until the stone house was completed two years later. The house is quite large, and was considered a very elaborate home in the 1880s.
Though remodeled in the 1950's, the Martins are currently restoring the home to its original state.Shannon and Grady were married in 2006, and Grady has enthusiastically embraced Shannon's dream for the Stone Barn Mercantile. Grady operates a cow/calve operation in Eastern Cowley County, holds a full-time "town" job and enjoys competing in Ranch Rodeos and Regular Rodeos in the Saddle Bronc Riding event.
